This example is from the story, The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything, by
Linda Williams, but students can make accordion books to go with any subject, theme, story, etc.

ART + FOLDABLE ... NOTE: This foldable was meant to be an "accordion" book, but since I wanted to put these on the bulletin board, I glued the folds on the books so the middle would not fall out while these were displayed on the wall.

This little foldable book (sample below) has a high level of scaffolding for English learners with low English proficiency or struggling readers.
Students add illustrations & story words to complete the pages.

Here are versions of this accordion book with different levels of scaffolding, depending on what your students need to be successful:

Just copy & paste these photos templates (below) in a word document and enlarge / reduce to the size you want...or, draw your own simple designs.
Then, print. Cut out pieces and have students use as patterns for tracing their own pieces on construction paper.
Or...If you have lots of time, have students draw their own original pieces.
